Arsenal have raided Barcelona’s youth team on multiple occasions down the years, with the likes of Cesc Fabregas and Hector Bellerin joining the Gunners in bargain transfers from La Masia.
The latest Catalan kid to make an impact while on Arsenal’s books is 20-year-old Jon Toral, who moved to the Emirates Stadium from Barca in 2011.
Toral has yet to make a senior appearance for the Gunners, but he has had an excellent season on loan at Championship promotion hopefuls Brentford, scoring six goals in 33 league games.
The combative youngster, who is taller that 6 ft, has been rewarded for his fine form with Brentford.
Arsenal bosses have handed him a one-year extension to his current Gunners contract, which had been due to expire this summer.
Toral cost Arsenal around £300,000 when he was picked up from Barca’s incredible talent pool.
