It has been reported in the Spanish press today that new Barcelona manager Luis Enrique could look to utilise a new-look 3-5-2 formation at the Nou Camp this season, with the Catalan giants under pressure to improve defensively and re-establish themselves as a force in La Liga and Europe after last season’s disappointments.
It has also previously been suggested that Enrique could look to move star player Lionel Messi into a deeper playmaker role, with the Argentine expected to now operate behind a front two of Brazil forward Neymar and £75m signing Luis Suarez, who deserves a shot upfront after his prolific form whilst at Liverpool.
