Since making the £16m move to Barca in 2011 the Cameroon international has found it hard to obtain game time competing with the likes of Cesc Fabregas, Andres Iniesta and Xavi.

However, this ban could actually benefit the midfielder as the Spanish champions would need the support in the middle of the pitch and a return to the Premier League would be off.
