Bavarians are keen to land Three Lions full back for next season.
Uefa Champions League holders Bayern Munich have emerged as surprise contenders to sign Manchester City defender Micah Richards this summer, according to exclusive reports in the Daily Star.
The some-time England international has been at Eastlands for his whole career to date, making his debut for the mega-rich Premier League outfit in the 2005-06 season.
However, the 25-year-old endured a tough campaign last time out in the north west after suffering a knee injury that restricted the full back to only eight appearances in all competitions under Roberto Mancini’s management.
And now the Bavarian giants and their new coach, Pep Guardiola, want to take advantage of the uncertainty surrounding the right back’s future in the north west by lodging a £14 million bid for Richards when the summer transfer window reopens for action on July 1.
But whether new City head coach Manuel Pellegrini would be willing to sanction the departure of such a versatile and skilful player is very much open to debate.
