Bayern had initially hoped to secure the future of Reus but he is said to be having considerable doubts about following former teammates Mario Gotze and Robert Lewandowski to the Alianz Arena next year.
Their moves from Dortmund to Bayern caused unrest in Germany and the 25-year-old could opt for a switch elsewhere so he doesn’t have to deal with the hassle.
However, should he eventually decide to snub a move to Bayern and head overseas, coach Pep Guardiola has apparently set his sights on making a play for the Liverpool and England youngster instead.
Guardiola is said to be a huge fan of the 20-year-old and has instructed his agent brother to head to England to begin preliminary negotiations.
Liverpool are desperate to keep hold of Sterling and have even offered him a new deal worth £70,000-per-week to stay put.
However, believing he is worth more, Sterling has turned down the early offer as talks continue.
