Bundesliga giants lining up massive summer bid for Brazil star.
Champions League holders Chelsea have been hit by the news that Bayern Munich are reportedly preparing a multi-million pound end-of-season bid for Santos star Neymar, says the Metro.
The current runaway Bundesliga leaders will be welcoming new head coach Pep Guardiola to the club this summer, and it is understood that the Catalan has made capturing the coveted Brazil international his No 1 transfer priority for the next campaign according to reports in Spanish sports daily Sport.
And while it had also been widely expected that the 21-year-old playmaker would be departing his homeland until after the 2014 World Cup finals, which are set to take place in Brazil, with the Bavarian giants believed to be readying an enormous bid in the region of £86 million, then the player’s and Santos’ resistance may very well be tested to the full in the next few months.
This news will come as a major blow to the West London outfit, who have also been keeping close tabs on Neymar’s movements these past few years, although whether the Blues’ billionaire Russian owner Roman Abramovich will be willing to fork out such an enormous sum to match the Germans’ offer is highly debatable one would think.
