How the Germans are likely to start against the Red Devils.
It’s a huge night of Champions League football for both Bayern Munich and Manchester United, as they go head-to-head once more in the Champions League quarter-finals.
The first-leg from Old Trafford last week finished 1-1 despite many thinking the Germans would cruise through and things are very open going into the clash at the Allianz Arena.
Here’s how the Bundesliga champions are expected to lineup against the Red Devils.
GK – 1. Manuel Neuer
The undisputed No.1 at Bayern and a goalkeeper who can be the difference between victory and defeat with his sharp reflexes and ability to operate as a sweeper/keeper.
RB – 13. Rafinha
With something of an injury and suspension crisis in midfield for Pep Guardiola, expect Rafinha to be included at right-back to allow captain Philipp Lahm to play further forward.
CB – 17. Jerome Boateng
In central defence Boateng is certain to start due to Holger Badstuber’s long-term absence and Javi Martinez’s ban after picking up a yellow card in the first-leg.
CB – 4. Dante
The impressive Brazilian missed the game at the Theatre of Dreams due to suspension and will be a welcome addition back in the starting XI, with a mission to keep Wayne Rooney quiet.
LB – 27. David Alaba
Despite still being just 21-years-old this left-back is a real threat on the flank and is among the finest attacking full-backs in the game already.
