It’s a huge clash in German football as Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich host rivals Borussia Dortmund at the Allianz Arena.
Despite the fact Bayern have already sewn up the title – with a record seven games to spare – Dortmund still need to confirm their Champions League place for next season.
Plus there is pride to play for, as these old foes never pass up an opportunity to get one over on the other; especially in a week when they’ve had such differing European fortunes.
The hosts cruised past Manchester United as they look to win another treble and will face Real Madrid in the semi-finals.
The Yellow and Blacks meanwhile had their own scrap with Madrid, as they almost overturned a 3-0 deficit from the first-leg at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu with a Marco Reus brace leading to a 2-0 win at the Signal Iduna Park.
However, manager Jurgen Klopp does have a selection headache going into the clash as there are several key players injured – as has been true for much of the campaign.
Ilkay Gundogan, Sven Bender, Neven Subotic and Jakub Blaszczykowski are all out for the game.
As for Bayern, despite beating the Red Devils 3-1 on Wednesday their league form has dipped since the title was confirmed and a shock home draw with Hoffenheim was followed by an even more surprising first defeat of the year to Augsberg last weekend.
Whilst head coach Pep Guardiola insists this isn’t a problem, they will want to beat Dortmund to reassert their authority.
