Former England captain is in Parisians’ squad for weekend trip to Sochaux.
New signing David Beckham has trained with his new Paris Saint-Germain team-mates for the first time since joining the big-spending Ligue 1 club.
One hundred journalists from all over the world attended an open session at PSG’s Camp des Loges training base here in the western Paris suburbs as the 37-year-old was put through his paces for the first time.
The session was also shown live on several French television stations.
Sporting pink boots and a red hat on a bitterly cold afternoon, Beckham briefly exchanged words with PSG coach Carlo Ancelotti before taking part in a warm-up with those members of the squad who did not feature in Tuesday night’s 2-1 win away to Valencia in the Champions League last-16 first leg.
The veteran Englishman, who signed a five-month deal at the Qatari-backed club at the end of January, attended the game in Spain and watched from the stands alongside sporting director Leonardo.
Ancelotti has not ruled out the possibility of including Beckham in his squad for Sunday’s Ligue 1 clash away to Sochaux.
However, it seems more likely that his debut will come against PSG’s bitter rivals Marseille, with the clubs set to meet twice in the space of four days later this month, first in the league, and then in the Round of 16 of the French Cup.
