Golden Balls could make PSG debut against Barton’s Marseille.
David Beckham could go head-to-head with fellow Brit abroad Joey Barton when PSG face Marseille in France biggest rivalry on Sunday, reports ESPN.
The 37-year-old is yet to play for the Ligue 1 leaders after arriving in Paris on 31 January but the former England captain is in line to face compatriot Barton at the Parc des Princes.
Marseille sit in third place, five points behind PSG and a victory would see the L’Om re-established in the race for the title.
Beckham could feature for a PSG outfit who surprisingly conceded three goals last weekend in a shock 3-2 reverse against Sochaux, ending a 13-game unbeaten run.
Boss Carlo Ancelloti has described the meeting with Marseille as a ‘clasico’.
“After the loss at Sochaux, we are of course going to be more motivated than ever,” PSG coach Carlo Ancelotti told PSG TV. “This is a ‘clasico.’ It is a different game. Everyone is focused on this. Every time it’s difficult, this kind of game.”
