Post 6 – Frosted
Jockey: Joel Rosario
Trainer: Kiaran McLaughlin
Owner: Godolphin Racing LLC
One of the most persistent horses in the race, Frosted will likely give American Pharoah a run for his money and could very well be the winner of the Belmont.
After a 2nd place finish at the Remsen back in November, a second place finish at Holy Bull in January, and a 4th place finish at Fountain of Youth in February, Frosted came away with the Wood Memorial win in April which got him squarely into the mix at the Kentucky Derby where he finished 4th.
Frosted also has the benefit of being jockeyed by the defending winner of the 2014 Belmont Stakes, Joel Rosario, who led Tonalist to an upset win over California Chrome. Meanwhile, trainer Kiaran McLaughlin once trained a Belmont winner of his own with Jazil in 2006. The stars certainly seem to be aligning properly for Frosted to score the upset win and take the Belmont this year.
Predicted Finish: 1st
