Oliveira is being linked with a switch to White Hart Lane.
Tottenham Hotspur are preparing to make a move for Benfica youngster Nelson Oliveira on-loan to bolster what is a weak attack at White Hart Lane, according to A Bola.
The 21-year-old spent last season at relegated Deportivo La Coruna and Cardiff City are also reportedly interested in the Portugal international.
Benfica have a number of options up-front, including Oscar Cardozo and Rodrigo and therefore want to send Oliveira out to gain first team experience.
Despite only having scored 20 career goals to date, Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas has clearly seen enough from the 35-year-old’s fellow countryman to want to bring the forward to England.
This could also be due to the fact that Tottenham are becoming increasingly desperate for strikers with only Jermain Defoe and Emmanuel Adebayor available as first team options.
Although having been linked with several big names, as yet AVB has managed to land none of them and so far this summer Brazil midfielder Paulinho remains the only new acquisition.
Oliveira is a product of the Benfica youth academy but so far has only played 22 games for the Primeira Liga runners-up, having also spent time at Rio Ave and FC Pacos de Ferreira on-loan.
The arrival of the young striker might not fill Spurs fans with too much excitement, but 10 caps for Portugal shows that the forward has shown a certain amount of promise.
