Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is said to be desperate to add a new right-back to his squad AS Italian giants Roma reportedly eye up a move for England international Glen Johnson.
Johnson is out of contract at Anfield at the end of the season, leading the Serie A giants to express some serious interest in landing him on a free.
Liverpool have also been keeping tabs on Barcelona right-back Martin Montoya, who has told the La Liga big shots that he wants to leave in the new year in search of more game time.
However, they know they will face competition for Montoya and may decide to take Benfica up on their offer for the Uruguay international.
