United boss Louis van Gaal is looking to bolster his attack following the departure of Radamel Falcao following his disappointing loan stint at Old Trafford.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward met with Benzema’s agent Karim Djaziri at the Savoy Hotel in London this week.
United have been heavily linked with Benzema over recent months, but club bosses will have to dig deep into its coffers to land the France international.
Real Madrid is believed to have valued the 27-year-old at £40m, and it remains to be seen if United are willing to stump up such a fee.
Benzema has an excellent goalscoring record at both Lyon and Real Madrid and there’s no doubt he would be a valuable addition to the side considering the poor form of Robin van Persie.
