The 19-year-old has been tipped for a bright future in the game but has so far struggled to gain a regular foothold in the Chelsea starting XI, and has played just 104 minutes of professional football in his career so far.
However, despite his inactivity the Blues are thought to be unwilling to negotiate a permanent deal.
Jose Mourinho is a fan of the young Dutchman, and hasn’t even sanctioned a loan move as he prefers to keep an eye on his development closer to home.
Besiktas has been linked with a number of Chelsea stars ahead of the January window, including Mo Salah and Petr Cech, and club president Fikret Orman recently hinted that he intended at least make an enquiry in the coming weeks.
“We have a very good relationship with Chelsea. Will we do business with them in January? Why not?” he said.
