Arsenal can move one step closer to the Champions League Group Stage with a positive result against Besiktas in the first-leg of their qualifier.
The two teams will play each other home and away with the aggregate winners progressing to the full tournament.
The Gunners are the favourites with the experience they have in this competition and due to the fact that their opponents have only made it this far because Fenerbahce have been banned from European football.
Left-back Kieran Gibbs will be absent for both legs having picked up a hamstring injury during Saturday’s 2-1 Premier League victory over Crystal Palace however.
This will mean Nacho Monreal is likely to get a place at the back, with Per Mertesacker set to be recalled earlier than expected.
However, there is some good news as fellow centre-back Laurent Koscielny has shaken off an Achilles problem and will continue to partner new £16m signing Calum Chambers.
Young striker Yaya Sanogo is also set to be absent due to injury meaning a likely start for Olivier Giroud, whilst 2014 World Cup winners Mesut Ozil and Lukas Podolski are still out.
For the hosts midfielder Atiba Hutchinson is a doubt, whilst former Chelsea and Newcastle United striker Demba Ba is set to start.
