Arsenal’s potential 2015 XI
The one big regret of Steven Gerrard’s career will be that he was never able to lift the Premier League title with his beloved Liverpool – a situation that is extremely unlikely to change between now and his designated Anfield departure at the end of the season.
With this in mind, British newspaper The Mail have picked the best XI of players from the Premier League era never to have earned a Premier League winners’ medal:
GK) Brad Friedel (Liverpool, Blackburn Rovers, Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur)
Evergreen goalkeeper Brad Friedel is still yet to hang up his gloves, but the experienced American certainly doesn’t look like winning a first Premier League medal now he’s in his fourties. A consistent and solid Premier League goalkeeper, Friedel is now cover at White Hart Lane, but his most impressive spell came with Blackburn.
