The Melbourne Renegades have announced big-hitting West Indian Dwayne Bravo will return to the side for the fourth edition of the Twenty20 competition.
Bravo played two matches for the Renegades last season and said he was excited to link back up with the franchise for the 2014-15 Big Bash season.
“I’ve always had a great relationship with Melbourne as a city and although it was a short stint in BBL03, I had a great time with the Melbourne Renegades. I’m really excited about linking up with the team again this season,” he said.
“The Renegades have added a strong mix of talent in the off season which is really important in this format.”
Bravo finished with 85 runs in his two innings with the Renegades, with bowling figures of 3/46 off eight overs.
“I think both aspects are important for me. Obviously you need to score quickly in T20 so being able to step up and make runs on the burst is really valuable,” Bravo said.
“Smart bowling is just as important in stopping the opposition’s momentum in a fast format. I also hope my experience can be helpful for the team.”
Renegades squad so far: Aaron Finch (c), Peter Siddle, James Pattinson, Matthew Wade, Dwayne Bravo, Jesse Ryder, Callum Ferguson, Ben Rohrer, Tom Cooper, Peter Nevill, Alex Doolan, Fawad Ahmed, Nathan Rimmington, Aaron O’Brien, Tom Beaton, Matthew Short, Nick Winter, Jayde Herrick.
