Unwanted Chelsea striker Demba Ba looks set to move to Turkish side Besiktas this summer, after accepting that his future lies away from Stamford Bridge, following the arrival of Diego Costa from Atletico Madrid.
The Metro are reporting that the two clubs have agreed a deal worth around £8m for the former West Ham United and Newcastle United forward, who has scored 14 goals for the Blues since joining the club in January 2013.
Besiktas president Fikret Orman claims to have come to an agreement over a fee with Chelsea, knocking the Blues’ asking price down in the process.
“Demba Ba is an excellent player and we have been in talks with Chelsea for a long time over bringing him to Istanbul,” said Orman.
“Talks are ongoing, Chelsea initially wanted £10m for Ba, but we have negotiated a price we are happy with. We’ll tell the media once the final deal is done.”
The Senegalese striker netted several important goals for Jose Mourinho’s side towards the end of the last season, helping Chelsea progress to the semi-final stage of the Champions League and finish in third place in the Premier League.
However, Mourinho is keen on revamping his front-line this summer, with Ba likely to be just one of the resulting casualties.
