In a recent poll that was not as surprising as it was overwhelming, Arsenal fans voted that they would be against bringing back striker Robin van Persie.
A recent poll done by talkSPORT revealed that 67% – more than two-thirds – of Arsenal fans answered “NO” to the question “Would you take Robin van Persie back?” The former Gooner captain left a lot of fans ticked off at the way he exited the club in 2012.
Van Persie played for Arsenal from 2004 until 2012, recording 96 league goals and 132 total goals. The Dutch striker was named Premier League Player of the Month three times, won a Golden Boot and a Premier League Player of the Year award during his time with Arsenal. His final year at Emirates Stadium included a 30-goal season that led the Premier League.
Since joining Man United and reuniting with his Netherlands coach Louis van Gaal, Van Persie has continued his scoring ways, earning a second Golden Boot award in 2013 and recording 48 goals in his first 86 games for the Red Devils.
