Tangerines manager admits dilemma over son’s future.
Blackpool boss Paul Ince has admitted he is torn as to whether to keep hold of son Tom this summer, amid interest from Premier League giants Liverpool and Tottenham.
The England under-21 winger has been on fine form for the Seasiders this season, netting 18 goals in 40 Championship appearances for his father’s side.
Ince, 21, was linked with a move to Liverpool in January – before dad Paul took the reigns at Bloomfield Road – while Tottenham have since been credited with an interest in the speedster.
Paul, who played for Manchester United, Liverpool and Inter Milan in an illustrious career, has admitted he is torn between wanting to keep Blackpool’s best players this summer and seeing his son succeed in the top flight.
“It’s a hard one. You want to go forward and keep your best players,” the Blackpool boss told the Daily Express.
“At the same time, as a father, you have to understand he has the ability to play in the Premier League.
Ince senior says he plans to hold talks about the subject in the summer and resolve the situation either way.
“It is about timing. We’ll sit down at the end of the season and decide where to go.
“He has a year left and a year option on the club’s behalf, so it’s a tricky one.”
