Sofapaka Coach feels victory is guaranteed with Williamson
Sam Timbe has tipped the new coach to take the twelve time Premier League Champions to the next level.
Williamson has taken over the reins at the Nairobi based club and Timbe who worked closely with the Scotsman during a stint as Assistant Manager with the Ugandan National side, feels Williamson is the man to lead the club forward.
Timbe who has just been appointed Manager of the ‘Batoto Bamungu’, spoke to Goal Kenya.
“He is a big coach and I am not surprised that he got the opportunity to handle Gor Mahia. He is going to do great things at the club just like he did with Uganda Cranes.”
While coaching the Cranes the Scot guided the side to three consecutive Council for East and Central Africa Football Association Cecafa Championships.
But after failure to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations or the World Cup the 51-year-old was sacked.
Gor Mahia sit top of the Kenyan Premier League eight points ahead of Ulinzi stars and nine ahead of rivals AFC Leopards.
Sam Timbe’s Sofapaka are in fourth position with 9 games to go, Timbe follows in the footsteps of Sam Ssimbwa, becoming the second Ugandan to coach both Sofapak and the National side.
