Rocker Bon Jovi has been trying to convince the public that he and his bidding group would keep the Bills in Buffalo – very few people are buying it.
In a recent letter to the Buffalo News, rock n’ roll legend Jon Bon Jovi – who is currently part of a Toronto bidding group attempting to purchase the Buffalo Bills – expressed his wish for the team to succeed in New York.
However, a recent poll by Pro Football Talk showed that almost 80% of people simply do not believe that Bon Jovi would keep the Bills in Buffalo.
Tim Graham of the Buffalo News spoke to PFT about some of the reaction from of Buffalo Bills fans. Graham explained, terms like “stupid” and “ridiculous” were used to describe the letter that has done nothing to improve the public confidence in Bon Jovi’s candidacy to buy the franchise.
Bon Jovi’s bidding group consists of several large players in Toronto sports and media organizations. The team is also competing with billionaire Donald Trump, who has allegedly offered $1 billion up front for the franchise.
The Buffalo Bills’ lease makes it almost impossible for the team to move prior to its expiration in 2022 due to the fines the team would incur. However, there is a window in 2020 where the team can opt out of the lease with a much smaller fine.
