Manchester United appear to be moving closer to signing Morgan Schneiderlin, with Southampton having stepped up their pursuit of two possible replacements for the Frenchman.
Reports on Sunday claimed that United were preparing to seal a £25m deal for Schneiderlin, who had previously been linked heavily with North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.

And the Sunday Express suggests that Southampton have given up on trying to hold onto the 25-year-old and are now preparing for life without him.
Jordy Clasie and Idrissa Gueye are believed to be the midfielders on Ronald Koeman’s shortlist as he again goes about trying to replace one of his best players.
Dutch international Clasie would apparently cost up to £10m from Koeman’s former club Feyenoord, while Gueye could join him at St Mary’s Stadium for fee in the region of £7m.
