Bosnia forward could return to Germany this summer.
Unsettled Manchester City front man Edin Dzeko may make a return to the German Bundesliga at the end of the season, according to reports in the Metro.
The Bosnia international is currently enjoying an up-and-down campaign for the Premier League champions, having featured in 34 matches on the one hand, but still having failed to nail down a regular starting berth at the Ethiad stadium, so much so that head coach Roberto Mancini would be happy to allow the centre forward to depart Eastlands come the summer.
And, with Bundesliga title-holders Borussia Dortmund currently on the lookout for a new attacker to lead their line next season what with in-demand Poland international Robert Lewandowski set for an end-of-season transfer to Bavarian giants and champions-elect Bayern Munich, then the City striker could very well come in as a straight like-for-like replacement for the departing Dortmund man.
The 26-year-old City player would be happy to return to Germany having played with great success for Wolfsburg before his big-money transfer to City in the summer of 2011, although Dortmund are also keen on the Hannover attacking pair of Mame Biram Diouf, who used to play for Premier League leaders Manchester United, and Mahammed Abdellaoue.
