West Bromwich Albion are on track to complete a deal for Manchester United defender Jonny Evans.
Baggies manager Tony Pulis revealed that the club will sign the defender soon and gave details on the timetable.
“We’re hopeful we’ll get it over the line tonight or in the morning. We have to bring in some players and we’re working hard on that,” Pulis said, according to the Daily Express.
Pulis’ comments came after a 1-0 victory over Stoke City on Saturday.
The Irish defender is expected to sign a deal worth about £6m with West Brom after spending the last nine seasons at Old Trafford.
The 27-year-old arrival is expected to force Joleon Lescott off the team.
Meanwhile, Man United have seen remarkable improvement from their defence so far, as they have not conceded a league goal this season.
It has helped the Red Devils overcome their struggles up front, as Wayne Rooney had a slow start before notching a hat trick against Club Brugge.
It remains to be seen whether they can keep up their current pace and stay in the title hunt with the red-hot Manchester City.
