Hearn doubts Brook vs Khan this summer: Fight would have to happen later in the year.
Amir Khan switched his attention to a new opponent on Saturday as he suggested that he would love to take on Miguel Cotto at a catchweight of 155 lbs.
Khan has made no secret of his desire to fight Floyd Mayweather in recent years, but he continues to be snubbed by the unbeaten American with many insisting that it is because he knows Khan would cause him problems.
The Brit has also pushed for a fight with former stable mate Manny Pacquiao, and the pair are believed to be open to a bout if ‘Pac-Man’ doesn’t face Mayweather on May 2.
However, while it is likely that that fight will eventually be made, Khan will be forced to consider his other options and he took to Twitter on Saturday to reveal his preference.
Khan v @RealMiguelCotto I'd take that fight in a heartbeat at catch weight 155lbs for the @WBCBoxing Middleweight title

Khan insisted that stylistically it would be a great fight for him, but regardless it makes a refreshing change to hear him discuss a fighter that isn’t named Mayweather as he will most likely have to look elsewhere this year.
Meanwhile, there is also the domestic showdown with Kell Brook that British boxing fans in particular would like to see. While that bout is unlikely to take place this summer, Khan would be looking for an opponent in May and Cotto appears to be the next on the list which also gives further strength to the argument that Mayweather-Pacquiao is going to happen.
