Amir Khan has again aimed a dig at domestic rival Kell Brook by insisting that the IBF welterweight champion isn’t on the same level as him.

Brook will make the first defence of his title next month when he takes on mandatory challenger Jo Jo Dan in Sheffield on March 28.
While Khan appears to have eased on his desperate pursuit of Floyd Mayweather, he is considering his options for a fight in May but he continues to downplay the achievements of Brook.
“There is no point in me fighting him just yet. Kell Brook is not on the same level as Amir Khan at the moment. He’ll get there one day and obviously he’s begging for the fight against me, ” he told ITV.
“But like I said, I’m on a different level and I want to fight the elite level of boxing…the biggest names in boxing. My name is being mentioned with the likes of Manny Pacquiao and Mayweather, Miguel Cotto. When Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao get asked who Kell Brook is, they say ‘we don’t know who Kell Brook is’ – so I think that says it all.”
Given that Brook is a fellow world champion in their division, it is highly unlikely that Mayweather and Pacquiao are unaware of the Brit. However, it is another shot at the Sheffield-born fighter who has been chasing the fight with Khan for some time.
While Khan is certainly the bigger name compared to his British rival, Brook brings a world title to the mix and a possible stadium fight in England that Khan would undoubtedly make a significant amount of money from.
However, he continues to go in search of a big fight name in America and it is unlikely that he will get either Mayweather or Pacquiao as their negotiations continue.
