Ward currently has the ‘super’ version of the title while Froch is the regular champion, with the unbeaten American ordered by the governing body last week to fight the Brit for a second time in order to establish one champion at the weight.
The 31-year-old secured a unanimous points win in their first meeting after dominating Froch in all 12 rounds in New Jersey back in 2011, but the Nottingham-born fighter has called him out and dared him to travel to his hometown and fight him at the City Ground.
Froch has previously insisted that he wouldn’t want to fight Ward again because he knows he’ll lose on points given the American’s style and ability.
However, it appears as though he is stoking the fire this week ahead of making a comeback from an elbow injury which has sidelined him until the summer.
Regardless, Ward was keen to stress that Froch would not be dictating anything in their talks but didn’t exactly rule out the possibility of facing him again either.
According to promoter Eddie Hearn, his fighter has several options on the table for the summer including the likes of Bernard Hopkins, Julio Cesar Chavez and Gennady Golovkin, and so Ward is likely to be added to that list with a view of the WBA getting one stand out champion.
Looks like Frochy Froch remembered my name all of a sudden. That’s good to know. Looks like the old man is still kicking.

If this fight does happen, Froch is not dictating anything. He must have fell a bumped his head.
