British heavyweight Audley Harrison has revealed that he is ready to make a ring return in 2015 and wants a domestic clash against either Anthony Joshua or Dereck Chisora.
Harrison (31-7, 23 KOs) hasn’t been in the ring since his first round knockout loss to Deontay Wilder back in April 2013, but he has insisted that he is ready to return in March.
The Olympic gold medallist has suffered three straight knockout defeats since 2010, losing to David Haye, David Price and then Wilder.
However, the 43-year-old is clearly not finished with the sport and he wants to test himself at a high level again in order to see where he is in terms of training and being able to perform against top-level opposition.
Joshua (10-0) is set to face American star Kevin Johnson on January 31, while Chisora will possibly be looking to re-establish himself after his one-sided defeat to Tyson Fury back in November.
Harrison has revealed that he is open to facing either fighter.
“There’s always a possibility of Joshua. I was talking to Eddie Hearn and Matchroom about fighting on a Sky show they had at the end of last year, but I was injured. And because that didn’t happen, Joshua is fighting this month now – so they’ve already kind of moved on to other things.
“We’ll have to see what’s out there. Whether it’s with a Joshua or a Dereck Chisora, I just want to get myself in shape and see where we are.”
