Former rivals Carl Froch and Joe Calzaghe have exchanged verbals on Twitter as they reignited their feud dating back to when the latter was still fighting.

The war of words started after Calzaghe congratulated James DeGale on becoming the IBF super-middleweight champion on Saturday after his win over Andre Dirrell in Boston.
The Welshman added in his tweet that he believed that the Londoner “would whoop Froch” which naturally drew a reaction from the Nottingham-born fighter.
Froch retorted that Calzaghe “didn’t fancy the job” given that the unbeaten former star opted not to face his domestic rival, something he is still criticised for today as many question whether or not he really faced the best of his era.
Nevertheless, it didn’t appear to bother him too much as he went on to rip Froch again by claiming he “couldn’t fill a phone box” at the time he was fighting Mikkel Kessler at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.
However, Calzaghe saved the best till last as while Froch complained that his rival had blocked him as they had just started to trade insults, the Welshman posted a picture of his garden and suggested that he was going to chop some trees.
This was indeed an hilarious dig at Froch for his comments to Floyd Mayweather earlier this month, when the 37-year-old insisted that he had also chopped some wood and done a significant amount of swimming to work on his power ahead of knocking George Groves out in front of 80,000 people at Wembley Stadium.
The pair have seemingly ended their exchange, but it certainly caught the attention of the boxing world as the debate then switched to whether or not Calzaghe the best of his generation.
That's enough twitter fun for today!! gardening time! First things first! which tree shall I chop down first?? pic.twitter.com/PdfZ0oRKUz
