Roach tells Pacquiao God ‘don’t give a f*** about Mayweather fight’: Pac-Man needs to be more ruthless.
The unbeaten American is deep into his camp ahead of the biggest fight in boxing history, and after his initial strength and conditioning work, he started sparring last week.
Among his sparring partners was Zab Judah, and his uncle, Jeff Mayweather, has revealed that the WBC and WBA welterweight champion destroyed him over five rounds with talk continuing that Mayweather is showing real spite in his training this time round.
“Just beat the s*** out of him. He beat Judah so bad, Judah was scared to let his hands go. Everybody was just hyped because they thought Judah was going to be something different, but Judah was worse than the other guys,” he told Mlive.com.
“It seemed like Floyd had something personal against him. He beat the s*** out of him. So then he quit, he let Judah off the hook, because Judah’s got a fight coming up and he messed his eye up.”
Mayweather added that his nephew is practically destroying any fighter that gets in the ring with him at this stage as he “isn’t the same old Floyd”, and he believes that the issues with Pacquiao over the years are fuelling him to work harder to ensure he is in the best possible condition come May 2.
It isn’t clear how much of this is true as part of it could be aimed at playing mind games with Pac-Man and his trainer Freddie Roach, but it would come as no surprise if Mayweather is putting serious work in at the gym as he does before every fight.
He puts his 47-0 unbeaten record on the line in just under six weeks time, and many believe that Pacquiao is the best equipped fighter to finally inflict a loss on him and comparing him in any way to Judah would be an insult and a bad move from TMT.
