Thurman was speaking ahead of his bout against Robert Guerrero in Las Vegas on Saturday night, as he was asked for his opinion on how he rates himself in the welterweight division.
The unbeaten American is regarded as being on the cusp of breaking into the top tier of fighters in the division, and he will hope to continue his march towards a world title with a comprehensive win on Saturday.
However, ‘One Time’ has his eye on the other fighters at the 147lbs limit, and while he belittled Khan’s achievements again, he admitted that he would be interested in coming to the UK to take on IBF champion Kell Brook.
“That’s become a more frequently asked question, especially ‘Will I go over there?’,” he said, Sky Sports reported.
“Well, I would love to. I love travelling the world of boxing. At this time, I don’t know what plans they (Brook’s promoters) have and I don’t know what they (Thurman’s promoters) have in store for me, after this fight on Saturday night.
“I am truly looking forward to Saturday night and coming through it but as long as Kell is a champion and I am a champion, it is definitely a fight that I am willing to make.
“That could possibly be made.”
Thurman added that he would want to see Khan face either Shawn Porter or Brook to gain some respect in the division, but if he really wants to make a statement then the 26-year-old insists he is more than ready to take him on.
