The pair will come face-to-face on Wednesday afternoon in Los Angeles as part of the only pre fight-week press conference.
Pacquiao has been hard at work in training camp in LA with trainer Freddie Roach joining him this week, while Mayweather has continued to base himself at his own gym in Las Vegas.
Both fighters have looked in good shape already, but it will be interesting to hear their thoughts at the podium on Wednesday as they will have an opportunity to have a dig at each other and gain an advantage in any mind games that they choose to play.
Pac-Man has started the fun and games early as after reports surfaced that Mayweather was stopping sparring partners already which hinted at a possibly more aggressive approach to this fight, his Filipino opponent welcomed him forward as he believes it will make a change from his usual boring fights.
“I hope the reports are true,” Pacquiao said, according to CBS.
“He should be aggressive during our fight so we can make the fans happy. We all know how he fights. In fact, his previous fights lulled me to sleep. I hope this time he would be man enough to take some risks. He should prove to the world that he’s a fearless fighter, not a runner.”
Naturally this is a ploy from Pacquiao to get Mayweather to engage as ultimately he will have a better chance of winning if they have a slugfest.
If Mayweather chooses to sit back defensively and counter-punch as brilliantly as he usually does, then Pacquiao may not have an answer if he is the only man pressing forward.
