Manny Pacquiao has vowed to chase Floyd Mayweather into ring submission when the pair eventually meet, which could be on May 2 next year.
Mayweather called out his long-time rival on Friday night and insisted that he would be ready to face him next May and that it was Pacquiao’s camp who were prolonging the negotiation process.
While the pair are regarded as the best “pound-for-pound” fighters of their generation, there has been numerous false starts in putting the fight together, but it appears as though both men want the bout. In addition, Pac-Man wasn’t shy about sharing his tactics.
“He (Mayweather) has reached a dead end. He has nowhere to run but to fight me,” said Pacquiao, according to Sky Sports.
“I will try my best to make this a thrilling and entertaining fight. But I doubt if he’s gonna engage me in a slugfest.
“You all know his fighting style. Most of his previous fights, if not all, induced us to sleep.
“I know what I have to do. I will chase him wherever he goes just in case he decides to run around the ring. We will devise a good fight plan against him.”
Pacquiao went on to insist that the fight was not about money and that he would be willing to listen and agree to whatever terms make sense for both parties. The 35-year-old insisted that the fight would be about legacy and giving the fans what they want, but it remains to be seen if the finally agree on a clash.
Following the Khan-Alexander bout in Las Vegas this weekend, those within the industry were seemingly confident that this time they would be able to make the fight, and it will likely set up one of the richest fights in boxing history.
