Hatton suffered a devastating loss to the Filipino at the MGM Grand in 2009, and after spending some time in the ring to recover he has revealed that he was still dazed as he headed back to his locker room.
The 36-year-old recalled that several stars wanted to visit him after the bout, but he was in no real state to have a chat as he was still left seeing a different type of stars after the knockout.
“Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie wanted to come and meet me after the Pacquiao fight. They wanted to come in the changing room just to make sure I was ok,” Hatton told ESPN.
“I was walking towards my changing room but it was an horrendously bad knock-out I suffered against Manny Pacquiao, so obviously my head was in other places. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were outside the changing room door and they said: ‘Hey Ricky, how are you?’
“I went: ‘Yeah not bad’ and just walked past them. I didn’t even notice them. How hard must I have been hit to ignore Angelina Jolie!”
Further, Hatton added that Denzel Washington went to check up on him after the bout too, but he revealed that the big-screen legend was embarrassingly denied access to the dressing room by his agent at the time.
The Manchester-born star ended his career with a 45-3 record with 32 wins coming by way of knockout, and he certainly made an impact across the pond despite that loss to Pacquiao and coming up short against Floyd Mayweather.
Hatton eventually called it a day in 2012, but not before establishing an incredible fanbase that still makes him a favourite today.
