Reports circulated on Saturday that deal was done…
Respected ESPN writer Dan Rafael and Showtime sports executive Stephen Espinoza have insisted that there is no deal between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao yet.

Reports on Saturday suggested that a deal had been struck between the two camps and that an announcement was imminent for a May 2 fight.
It has long been reported that Pacquiao has agreed to a 60-40 purse split in favour of Mayweather, along with the drug-testing protocol, venue, date and various other fight aspects of the deal.
However, there has been no confirmation from Mayweather since, despite the pair meeting face-to-face for the first time at an NBA game earlier this month and then again later that night in private in Pacquiao’s hotel suite.
Mayweather has leaked a video of that meeting in which he can be heard insisting that the fighters owe the bout to the fans before they retire, but despite reports claiming it is a done deal, that is not the case yet.
“Mayweather-Pacquiao deal is nearing finish line one way or other but 2 sources involved said it is NOT done at this point,” Rafael noted on Twitter.
Later on Saturday, Espinosa also took to Twitter to shoot down the latest reports by claiming: “Not sure what anyone is signing since no agreement has been finalised yet”.
On a positive note, negotiations are evidently progressing and many now believe that it is merely a matter of time before the fight is made for Las Vegas on May 2.
However, premature reports have fooled many into thinking that talks have been concluded, but clearly those directly involved in negotiations and others with reliable sources are aware that nothing has been officially finalised yet.
