The American veteran has been training in the UK for the last four weeks, but has kept his location secret with speculation suggesting that he has been working with another British fighter.
While he paid tribute to his new trainer on Wednesday following the final press conference ahead of fight night, it has emerged that he has been based in Manchester, with Nelson insisting that it is Fury who has been helping him get in the best shape possible.
“My spies tell me he’s been sparring at Tyson Fury’s gym, sparring a bit with Tyson Fury,” he told Sky Sports News HQ.
“If that is true, maybe Tyson will be trying to see how he fares against Anthony, knows what his strengths and weaknesses.”
Johnson (26-6-1, 14 KOs) has never been stopped in his professional career, even despite the fact that he has been in the ring with the likes of Dereck Chisora, Fury and Vitali Klitschko.
‘Kingpin’ has been outspoken as ever this week as he has consistently blasted Joshua for having no power while also labelling him a “media hype job”.
While he claims that he is in the best shape of his career, it remains to be seen whether or not this is all talk from the American as Joshua has kept his cool throughout proceedings but insists that he wants to break his opponent down over the 10-round contest and claim a knockout win if possible.
It all results in an intriguing clash at the O2 on Saturday night, with many wondering whether or not Johnson can actually cause a major upset and inflict a first loss on the British heavyweight star.
