Fans were given a week to vote for their favourite belt which will be specially made for the bout at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on May 2, and the winner will now know that the emerald belt will be handed to them on the night.
The belt has been especially designed by the WBC to celebrate what is expected to be the biggest fight in boxing history, with revenue and viewing figures set to be shattered around the world.
Ticket prices are set to be extremely high which will result in the biggest gate in history while the price of the pay-per-view broadcast in both the USA and around the world is expected to be higher than usual.
The emerald belt won by the margin of 53% against the 47% for the Onyx belt, and now it is a case of continuing the countdown to fight night to see who will have it strapped around their waist come the conclusion of the bout.
With the war of words continuing between trainers, the anticipation surrounding the fight has been drawing comparisons to the classic fights from previous generations including Muhammad Ali vs Joe Frazier.
The rivalry between the two fighters have been built up for over five years, and boxing fans will finally find out who is the pound-for-pound king of the sport when Mayweather puts his unbeaten record of 47-0 on the line against the man that many believe will be the toughest test of his career.
