Wide receiver impressed with off season arrivals.
Wide receiver Brandon Marshall has revealed he is “in love” with the new Chicago Bears offense, after several new additions this off season.
Having undergone arthroscopic surgery on his hip in January, Marshall told the Chicago Sun-Times that he is excited about starting the 2013 season injury free.
The 29-year-old reached career highs with 118 receptions and 1,508 yards in 2012 and expects to improve again in the coming year having now overcome his injury concerns. Considering he earned a Pro Bowl spot in the last two years, much is now expected of what he can achieve in the new season.
“I’m excited to start this season 100% healthy and see how much better I can be, completely healthy. I feel so great, man,” he told reporter Sean Jensen.
That isn’t the only thing Marshall is excited about though, as he revealed he has been left particularly impressed by the franchise’s work in the off-season and the new arrivals.
Having gone over the offense with newly recruited tight end Martellus Bennett, Marshall is optimistic ahead of coach Marc Trestman’s first season in charge.
“Oh my gosh, I’m in love with it,” he told the Sun-Times.
“Martellus and I sat down and went through the formational stuff and started challenging each other. It was exciting to go through, and it’s pretty cool to have a partner,” he concluded.
Marshall is likely to be a driving force on the offense for the Bears again next season, providing a reliable option for quarterback Jay Cutler. However, with the NFL 2013 Draft still ahead, it will be interesting to see what moves Chicago makes.
However, what is certain is that a fully fit Marshall is raring to go and can’t wait to get out on the field with his new team-mates and the offensive set-up.
