Internacional’s Leandro Damiao ‘cant rule out’ White Hart Lane move.
Brazil international Leandro Damiao has refused to rule out a move to Tottenham this summer but says it is his ‘dream’ to play in the Champions League.
Spurs have long been linked with a move the Internacional striker and were reportedly close to signing Damiao in January.
Napoli and Marseille are also said to be interested in the Brazilian, both of which could offer the forward Champions League football next season.
Tottenham’s failure to qualify for UEFA’s premier club competition weakens their appeal, but Damiao’s agent Vinicius Prates says his client could still move to White Hart Lane.
“With the improvement he has been showing I think he is mature enough to leave, he is ready to play in Europe,” Prates is quoted as saying by Sky Sports.
“If it was just a matter of money, he would have left a long time ago. Leandro Damiao’s dream is to play the World Cup.
“If he leaves, it will be to a big club, he is under contract until 2016 and the club gives him every condition for him to achieve that dream.
“Our idea is to always work with big clubs, all players dream of playing in the Champions League. But Tottenham are an important club in London, we can’t rule them out.”
For all those asking, I still haven’t joined Spurs.
