Jorginho is flattered by Premier League giants interest, but wants to stay at Verona…
Young playmaker Jorginho has dismissed reports he could move to the Premier League in January, claiming he is happy to remain at Serie A side Verona until the end of the season at least, reports Sports Witness.
In the past few months, the likes of Liverpool, Everton, Chelsea and Arsenal have all been linked with the 21-year-old, who has started his debut season in Serie A in impressive form. Last year, he helped Verona win promotion from Serie B, and has made the step up comfortably.
He’s already bagged five league goals in just eight appearances, alerting the attention of some European heavyweights.
Despite the interest, Jorginho wants to keep his feet stuck firmly to the ground.
“Doing one more year in Verona will suit me just fine. I feel at home, and there is great enthusiasm,” he said.
It seems a sensible decision for the youngster to remain at a club where he is learning his trade and beginning to flourish. At Chelsea or Arsenal, among the plethora of attacking midfielders, it’s unlikely Jorginho would get much game time, but a move to either Liverpool or Everton could perhaps be a more suitable stepping stone.
Jorginho has made a sole appearance for the Italian Under-21s, but could still represent either Brazil or Italy at full international level.
