Corinthians midfielder Paulinho set for £17m move to White Hart Lane.
Brazil international Paulinho is set to join Tottenham after admitting it would be a ‘dream’ to play for the Premier League outfit.
Spurs have had a £17m bid accepted by the 24-year-old’s club Corinthians and the midfielder will move to White Hart Lane after the Confederations Cup.
Inter Milan and Real Madrid were both thought to be interested in the Selecao star, who scored in the friendly draw with England earlier this year and also netted in the Confederations Cup opener with Japan last week.
But Spurs looked to have beaten off competition to land the energetic star, who will link up with compatriot Sandro in north London next season.
“I feel I am ready to experience football at the highest level in Europe and the opportunity to play in England is a dream,” Paulinho is quoted as saying by the Independent.
“It’s a great pleasure to be linked to such a great club like Tottenham. They have a reputation as one of the great clubs in England who play exciting, attacking football which suits my style. I couldn’t turn them down if they made me an offer. It would be a fantastic opportunity to play for Tottenham.”
