Fernandinho confirms desire to join City on twitter.
Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fernandinho has revealed he wants to join Manchester City this summer.
The Brazilian has been linked with a move to the Etihad Stadium after several stunning displays in the Champions League, including scoring against Chelsea in October.
The 28-year-old has been with Shakhtar since 2005 and has three years remaining on his current deal at the Dombass Arena.
But the enforcer has made no secret of his desire to leave the Ukrainian Champions, and recently replied to a Manchester City fan on twitter, confirming his interest in moving to Eastlands:
“@bluemoon_jl: @fernaoficial Do you want to join City? Please answer! Really hope you join 🙂 #FernandinhoToCity #MCFC”yes my friend!!!

Fernandinho cost Shakhtar just £7m but reportedly has a £40m buy-out clause in his contract, and has pleaded with the club to waive it so he can join City.
“My dream is being threatened by my valuation,” the defensive midfielder is quoted as saying by the Daily Mirror.
The Selecao international, who has five caps for his country, added that he did not regret making the decision to move to Ukraine.
“When you are 20, you are young and you have to take risks,” he said.
“I arrived here in a totally different country, with a different culture, different climate, but everything went as I expected and I’m sure a 20-year-old today would take the same risk that I did.”
