The 19-year-old jetted into the capital of England on Tuesday to undergo a compulsory medical with the Stamford Bridge outfit, and, according to the Daily Star, the deal could be wrapped up by the end of the week.
The Brazilian is, the Metro report, considered one of the most exciting young players in his homeland, and was also being monitored by Blues’ rivals Manchester City.
However, it appears that Chelsea have persuaded Nathan that Stamford Bridge would be the best move for his career, and the youngster looks set to add to a successful group of Brazilian stars at the club – with Oscar, Willian, Ramires and Filipe Luis all among Jose Mourinho’s first-team squad.
The teenager has 14 caps for Brazil’s Under-20s, and has made 13 first-team appearances for Atletico Paranaense.
