Arsenal have bid for Newcastle midfielder Yohan Cabaye, according to Sky Sports News.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is under pressure to spend after the club’s opening day 3-1 defeat against Aston Villa and the Frenchman is understood to be an admirer of his compatriot Cabaye.
The playmaker, 27, has also been linked with Ligue 1 champions PSG and and Parc des Princes boss Laurent Blanc has admitted he loves Cabaye as a player.
The Times’ North East writer George Caulkin confirmed the bid was of £10m and said the Toon would reject the bid:
Arsenal have made a bid of £10m for Yohan Cabaye. Dismissed as “derisory” by #Nufc and will be rejected if it hasn’t already.
