Alexander Hleb, Arsenal to Barcelona, 2008, €17m
The Belorussian became the first of his countrymen to don the famous colours of both sides, but where he was an exciting, resound success with the Gunners, his time in Spain was blighted by injury, loss of form, and ultimately became his undoing.
He struggled to get into the first team from the off and made only 36 appearances during four years with the club. This was mostly due to his loan spells with the likes of Stuttgart, Birmingham and Wolfsburg before leaving to tour the lower reaches of eastern Europe.
Deal for Arsenal: 8/10
Deal for Barcelona: 2/10
