The New York Jets are hurting badly as they are on a seven-game losing streak, and head coach Rex Ryan is feeling his seat get hotter. Quarterback Geno Smith has performed abysmally, and Jets fans have become fed up with him.
Smith has thrown seven touchdowns with 10 interceptions, and his passer rating stands at 65.6.
It has been announced that Michael Vick will start in his place in Week 9, but Ryan did not commit to him being a full-time starter.
This will be a trial start for Vick, and if he can snap the Jets’ losing streak against the Kansas City Chiefs, Smith’s days as a starting quarterback may be over.
Here is a tweet from NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport releasing the Jets’ announcement.
