The Minnesota Vikings are scheduled to face the Green Bay Packers on the road for Thursday Night Football, and this threw a wrench in the Vikings’ hopes to have starting quarterback Teddy Bridgewater return.
Bridgewater made his starting debut for the Vikings on Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons, and he led them to a 41-27 victory over the Atlanta Falcons while passing for 317 yards.
However, the rookie quarterback injured his ankle and has been questionable for the Vikings’ Week 5 game. The Vikings said that he would be a game-time decision, but now reports are saying that the Vikings are likely to rest him and start Christian Ponder instead.
Here is a tweet from ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter releasing the news on Bridgewater’s status.
All signs point to Christian Ponder starting at QB for Vikings tonight.
