After mutually parting ways with the Denver Broncos following an unexpected early playoff exit, John Fox had no trouble finding work as he has been hired by the Chicago Bears.
Fox was signed to a four-year deal, and he will look to right a sinking ship that was left by Marc Trestman, who was fired after just two seasons in Chicago.
Despite helping improve the offense, the Bears defense took a significant turn for the worse under Trestman’s watch, and they missed the playoffs with a 5-11 record despite being expected by many to return to the playoffs this season.
Despite being criticized for his conservative coaching style and not winning a Super Bowl, Fox has made two trips to the Super Bowl. He took the Carolina Panthers there in 2003 before guiding the Broncos there in 2013.
NFL insider Jay Glazer made the news of Fox’s hiring official on Twitter.
